another different post apocalyptic thing i thought up. i wanted to think of something different, like instead of an outbreak occurring and everything turns to shit because you can’t contain anything when everything is so open, what if the outbreak was localized. what better place to localize the outbreak than the place surrounded with 2000 miles of water.
a virus or sickness or something starts spreading throughout hawaii and the govt gets word of this and performs an emergency shut down for every mode of transportation. no one can get in or out at all. no supplies, nothing. basically hawaii is abandoned and left to die. no one wants anything to do with them.
in the course of the virus outbreak, the majority of people just drop like flies. there is like a less than 1% chance of not getting the virus, and those people are the ones who have to live in this abandoned island (i’m guessing the entire state of hawaii has been afflicted with the virus because even though harbors have been shut down, people have been sneaking to the other islands). since people died off so quickly and there were no where to go, a lot of food and supplies are left around. this is how the survivors live.
it’s been a little more than a year and food and rations are running out fast. even with natural knowledge, it’s hard to obtain what you need without the necessary resources. conflicts arise between survivors and their property and they just overall try to survive until another day, holding on to that one far away dream that someone will come save them someday…
yeah it’s just the same old post-poc structure. i just haven’t seen much on just surviving on a place that is denied any resources at all.
